For a task that we were given to do to find more about curtain music magazines, we had to look up information on three different music magazines, and write up our finds on them.
Kerrang!
Kerrang first launched on the 7th June 1981and the magazine costs around £2.20. The magazine is published every week, and the publisher of the magazine is Bauer Consumer Media. The target audience of the magazine is for teenagers and young adults. The magazine is very popular, with the total circulation of an average of 134000.
Bauer consumer media also publishes: heat, GRAZIA, Closer, MCN, FHM, Parker’s, MATCH, Magic 105.4, Kiss 100, 4Music, and much more. There are over eighty different media brands spanning a wide range of interests.
NME
NME was first launched on the 7th March 1952 and the cost of the magazine is £2.30. The magazine is published every week, and the publisher of the magazine is IPC Media. The target audience of the magazine is for teenagers and young adults. The magazine is very success with a total between January and June 2010 of 33875.
IPC Media also publishes magazines like Country life, Nuts, Horse and Hound, Chat, Women, Look, Rugby world, and much more. There are 60 iconic media brands.
MixMag
MixMag was first launched on February 1st 1983 and the cost of the magazine is £4.20. The magazine is published once a month, and the publisher of the magazine is Development Hell. The target audience of the magazine is teenagers and young adults. The magazine is very successful with a certified circulation of 30817 and a readership of 276000, the biggest selling dance and club magazine in the world.
Development Hell only publishes two monthly magazines which are MixMag and The Word, with both different media interests, one with club/dance and the other is a normal music magazine.
