When looking at all four covers, the four articles, the four contents pages, I was able to see some representations that are used in all magazines. When looking at the magazine cover, articles and contents page I was able to see there are many different representations that occur within the magazines.
One representation that I was able to see when looking at rock magazines is that the images of the band or artist is represented as a rebel and dark, for example you can see this with the contents page on Kerrang magazine that the image of a member from Rob Zombie that is in black and white connoting the darkness with the member and how the member of the band is waving his hair around as most rock band members do connoting the rebel that most people believe are rock bands. When looking at the covers of magazines and the different genres that the magazines have you can see the representations that occur when looking at the different colours they use, for example looking at a pop magazine, your able to see that the magazine uses bright colours, because when you relate pop to colours you would see bright colours, and how everything within that magazine will have to be bright and cheerful, this is because when you think of pop music you will relate that to bright colours. And when you compare pop to rock you can see a major difference when looking at the colour schemes used to keep the representations of that genre. With rock magazine you won’t have bright colours, and most of the time they will be colours like dark blur, black and purple, these are only some examples, so you can see that even with the colour that is used on the cover or the articles you can still representations within the colours used for that genre.
With the representations that I decided to talk about you can see there are different kinds of representations that the magazines use, whether its with an image or the colour scheme, these are still representation within the magazine that are represented in a way that is most commonly known to the audience.
